Our guest rooms on the first and second
floor have a private bath, individual heat/air pumps, cable TV and are in a Non
Smoking environment. Each room has been decorated with a special flair and
individual design. All rooms have antiques, collectables - some with family
heirlooms and some with furniture manufactured in Eleanor Roosevelt's Val-Kill
Industries. This was her furniture shop in New York that employed out of work
craftsmen during the Great Depression. This is the same type of furniture that
adorns FDR's Little White House as well as his estate in Hyde Park, NY.
Two rooms have the original 1907
claw footbath tubs and several rooms have the 1907 corner lavatory. The owner
has taken care to preserve as much of the historic construction and atmosphere
as possible as her restoration of Hotel Warm Springs has been a hands-on
experience.
She has plastered and painted walls,
redesigned rooms for private bath, sewn window treatments, selected fabrics and
much more so that each room conveys its own personal decor.
Countless hours have been spent
searching the antique shops for just the right items that enhance each room. In
an effort to provide an homey atmosphere, many of her personal antiques and
collectables occupy special places throughout Hotel Warm Springs.
